Halloween 2026: The October Country
I’m so bad at keeping up with this blog, although I’m always active on Instagram, I’d like to post here more often and keep it as a portfolio project. I’ve been working on props a lot, I took an (extremely short) break after the holidays but when inspiration calls, you pick up the phone. This years display will be called ‘The October Country’ Not to be confused with the book by Ray Bradbury, it has nothing to do with it but the title is very fitting for the idea I have. Rural, Desolate, Grisly and Witchy are what I’m going for. Earlier this week, I took two scarecrows out to photograph. I went alone, two scarecrows over my shoulder, posts and my cameras, I hiked out to the meadow that we used to drink at when I was a teenager, it was funny being back there again. I got some neat photos and a creepy Polaroid, once they’re all finished I’d like to get them shot all together at the barn with fog and lights, but until then, enjoy!
